Life with our little family of 3...

I took Emma and a couple of her friends to the Children's Hands On Museum this week. They had a great time pretending to be... A rock star A construction worker A beautiful & happy girl! (This one isn't pretending!)

All in a day of homeschooling! :-)

We had a delay in school this morning due to camera fun! :-) These are just a few of the fun pictures we took! But at last we got started with our school! We finished up with this fun experiment! We are making "Fool's Jewels" from our story of Jacques Cartier's discovery of "jewels" in his exploration to Canada! In a couple of days these will be some yummy treats to eat!

We finally got a camera after all these months! I missed having one so much! So today I went picture crazy! These are just a few of the things we did today. These pictures were from an Atom & Molecule experiment we did today. It involved placing copper wires that were attached to a battery into a glass of water. This was the results! No this is not blue kool-aid... I've already made that mistake once in my lifetime... (right Carrie & Jenna?!?) This is what Mac does while we do our homeschooling... how helpful! Quite the swimmer! Kayaking! About a year or so ago, Robert began dreaming of us all going kayaking together. It's a relatively inexpensive hobby compared to others. Thus began his quest... It started with Emma. Last year for Christmas she got her own kayak from Grandpa & Grandma. In the months since, she has become quite the kayaker! She loves it! Especially having her own! So a few weekends ago, we rented a couple of more kayaks and went out on the sound. We had a great morning of kayaking around the sound! It's so amazing to see how confident Emma is out on her own. She loves being able to paddle around by herself. Hanging with Grandpa We didn't get a picture but we had a couple of sea lions following us around that morning! It was really cute. 1 kayak down... 2 more to go. :-)

It has been a long time since I have posted any pictures of my own since our camera died! Thanks to our friend Rachael for letting us borrow her camera for these pictures! Emma and I decided to take an impromptu trip to the Oregon Coast this week. She has wanted me to take her to Cannon Beach since I did our women's retreat there last spring. She really wanted to spend the night too but after hours of looking I couldn't find anything under $125 a night since it's tourist season! When I told her this she asked if I would look one more time. So I did to appease her.... and wouldn't you know it but I found a room for $79. I had looked at this hotel and many others several times and NEVER found this rate! When I told Emma she said "Yes! God answered my prayers!" So off to a great start to Oregon we went... Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach Of course Gwen had to come on the trip! Emma packed enough clothes for both herself AND Gwen to be able to stay an entire week! (Side note: Gwen never made it out of the hotel...she pretty much stayed like this the whole time...guess she didn't need any of those outfits after all!) We had just watched the sunset at Seaside Finally breakfast! She was so hungry and so happy when it finally came!
