11 years...

Image
Robert and I have been married 11 years as of Saturday. It's hard to believe that it's been "that long" already. We've had our share of ups and downs, good times and bad times. But through the grace of God, he has seen us through them and will continue to. We spent part of our anniversary with Emma at the "Fisherman's Fall Festival" in Seattle. It was a nice day with nice weather. Then we went to a restaurant that we've been to when we lived in Seattle to bring back memories... well you know how "old memories" are... they are always better in your head! Oh well the food was edible! At least we were able to finish it off with a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory! Happy Anniversary to us!

Sunday with nature

Image
Thanks to a much needed break in the rain we took a walk at a local nature park. It was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. We saw these beautiful mallard ducks hanging out in the pond. Emma loves to compare her height to everyone and everything... finally this grass was something that was almost taller than her! :-) Emma found a little friend... "Catapilly". She really wanted to take her home but we just couldn't.

Doh!

We have a bird feeder that hangs in our front window. The birds love eating and we love watching them. But occasionally we hear a thud... DOH! That had to hurt!

Lunchtime!

Image
These aren't special pictures... just more practice and fun! I have been inspired to take more pictures thanks to a friend of mine. This friend also got me hooked on a blog of a woman who also posts about homeschooling, photography, life and more. So here are some shots of what we have for lunch during a typical homeschooling day... Emma doesn't deviate much from her lunch menu... bagel pizza w/ ham, ham & cheese sandwich or bacon sandwich is what she wants pretty much every day! Emma even posed for me like she was picking up her food in the lunch line!

Math Review & Lessons in Digital Photography....

Image
We have had our digital camera now for over 3 years probably longer. I really like it but would like to graduate someday to a DSLR. In order to do that though I need to figure out how to take pictures with ours! (Oh yeah and sell an animal, child, husband or something in order to pay for it!) So in the meantime I am determined to learn how to take good pictures! I am tired of crappy shots due to my inability to take them. Hence the pictures of Emma doing her Math Review. She was a good sport and let me snap pictures while she was working. Besides I thought some people might want to see what we supposedly do all day. :-)
