A day at the lake...

Image
We went to Millerslyvania State Park to ride our bikes. We ended up at the lake for awhile too! It was a great family day!

Spies in the Sky Finale

Image
Emma survived her first week at Aerospace Camp - Spies in the Sky! She had such a great time and was throughly exhausted at the end of the week. Here are some pictures of her graduation ceremony! Here is the beginning of the slide show. I'll post the link once they upload it! There is a cute slide show of some of the activities that she did. Here is her group - the spies! I can't tell you her spy name, otherwise we might have to off you! Here she is waiting patiently for her graduation certificate! Here I am with her explaining that next week isn't going to be as exciting as her week at Aerospace Camp. We had been sitting here for about 5 minutes when she announced she was bored! Ahh the transition begins... This was the ride back home...

Aerospace Camp Update

Today is day 3 for Emma at her Aerospace camp in Seattle. I don't have any pictures to post since she wouldn't let me attend with her! She said that I was too old! So I'll fill you in on what's she's doing this week. I know that she is having a blast! She is staying at Grammie's house for the week in Seattle. I went up with her on Sunday and stayed until Tuesday. Grammie and I dropped her off Monday morning. Both of us were almost in tears by the time we left. Our big girl is off to all day camp! So to help us feel better... we went shopping! :-) Now I am home thinking how quiet it is here! Robert and I are so excited for Emma. This is such a great experience for her that she'll never forget! She will get to experience all kinds of things that we never will be able to! Here is her schedule for the week: Monday - She met a helicopter pilot and got to tour the helicopter. They learned about the motions and controls of planes. She also learned how to write secr...

Spies in the Sky - Space Camp!

Image
Emma is attending her first (probably of many) Science/Space Camps! This camp is at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. She going to the Spies in the Sky camp that focuses on the MD-21 Blackbird. She was so excited to go! Here she is showing us that she is ready to go! She's also showing us her new backpack for camp! Here she is after we checked her in and she received her t-shirt! Think she's excited? And here she is waiting for me to pick her up! It was an exciting first day at camp! She was excited to go again the next day. She said that she liked everything about it!

Northwest Trek

Image
We took a trip to Northwest Trek with some friends who haven't been there before. It is such a great relaxing animal park. You can take a train ride around the free roam area. This is where bison, deer, antelope and other wild animals are able to roam free. Here is a picture of a look out area on the train rise. Before Mount St. Helens erupted, on a clear day you would have been able to see if from this point. Talk about gorgeous! Emma and Jill on the train ride! Emma and one of her favorite people Squeaky. Squeaky was visiting us from Minnesota with her daughter Amy. We had a great visit! And here is our precious Emma!

Fishin'

Image
Robert took Emma fishing down at the lake. Here she is with her tackle box, hot cocoa and fishing shirt! They had a lot of fun even if they didn't catch anything!

Baking

Image
We had a friend, Squeaky visit us from Minnesota. We decided on morning to have a baking marathon! So we pulled out whatever we could find in the cupboard! Emma's such a great helper! Squeaky and Emma made sure to test and double test to make sure these peanut butter cups were good enough to eat! Into the oven they go! When it was all said and done, we made Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, Reece's Peanut Butter Cup Bar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies! Emma wanted to have a bake sale! We said "No way, these are for us!" In the end we ended up giving a lot away or taking it to various meetings and such. We realized that it was a lot for us to eat! Besides the process was the best part!

Soccer

Image
Emma took soccer this session at ORLA. She was really excited about playing soccer though we soon found out that it was mostly a skills class. She had fun anyway! For most of the session, they had to play under the covered area since we live in WA and it rained almost every week. Finally for the last session, they played an actual game! She was so excited to be able to play and kick the ball around! The rules for the class was that you had to have shin guards or you could not participate. So we went out the first week to buy shin guards... of course pink ones! So for 10 weeks Emma wore her pink shin guards... under PANTS because of the weather! Finally on the last week, she got to show them off! Because... "what's the point of having pink shin guards if no one can see them?!?" And of course the best part of the game... the half time oranges! Yum!
