Life with our little family of 3...

Every year we go to the Thurston County Fair that is in Lacey. We usually go on Wednesday because for a dollar and some canned foods, you can get in for $1.00. The rides are also $1 and some food items are $1. Well this year it was 104 on $1 Wednesday so we did not go. Instead we went on Thursday when it was only 97! Yikes it was so hot! But we went with our friends Amy, Krista & Erica. Thursday was "Buddy Day" since the arm bands were buy one get one free. This let the girls ride all the rides they want! So here are Emma and Krista on the Dragon Boat ride. I don't think the girls ever waited in line since there was hardly anyone there because of the heat. You can tell here how hot they are! After this we had to take a break from the sun! Here is Emma and Ronald McDonald. She was picked to go up on stage to help him with his magic trick. It's a little after 10 pm on Thursday night and it's 72 degrees! Brrr! The last few days at this time it's still been in the 90s! Tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 85! Considering this week the highs have been 95 (Mon), 102 (Tues), 104 (Wed) & 97 (Thurs)! It looks like next week we'll finally be back to normal, the high 70s! I saw that we might even have rain! YEAH!

Ok I had to post like some of my other friends... It's SO hot! Yesterday it got up to 102 in Olympia. Today they are expecting 106! I think it's hotter here than where my brother and sister live in Texas! And they are expecting the high 90s for the rest of the week! It's only 8:00 am and it's already 73 outside. The average temperature for this time of year is only 76! And that is in the afternoons! Last night at 7:00 pm it was still 100 degrees! Yikes! Though I do feel guilty sitting here in my living room... I put our window a/c in yesterday. So it stayed around 73 - 75 for most of the day in here. There are many people in our area who don't have this because this is not normal. A friend came over yesterday to get out of her house because it was so hot! They have opened both of our fire stations to the public as cooling centers. There are other places that are opened as well to get out of the heat like the mall and stores. I decided to take Emma on a bike ride last week. We haven't had a lot of time to just be together. So we drove over the a trail in Lacey about 15 minutes from here. We packed some lunch and ate at the trail head before we left. Then we were off! Here we are for our pit stop for a snack and some water. This is at a nice little lake with some pretty flowers. There was also a hawk flying around above us that was so cool! We also decided to get a silly picture of us together! After we got back on our bikes, I decided that we would ride over to Emma's friend's house. She hasn't been able to see Krista in a long time. After I told her where we were going she said "This is the best day of my life!" I said "Why?" She said "Cause I get to see Krista!" I said "What about spending some special time with me, having your favorite thing for lunch (Port of Subs) and going for a bike ride with me?" She said "Oh yeah, that too." ?!?!?!?...

Emma is going to Summer Hummer again this year and is having a blast! Summer Hummer has got to be one of the largest vacation bible schools this side of the Mississippi. There are about 900 kids ages 5 - 12 at this all day VBS. The kids have SO much fun and are completely exhausted by the end of the week! They get to learn and talk about God all while they are having a blast! Here is her group this year. She has 4 of her friends in her group with her! Caroline, Annah & Ryan are in the front with her. Her other friend Josie is standing on the rock in the back on the right. They always do a silly picture too! :-) This picture made me SO proud! She was always afraid to do this but this year she decided to do it! Yeah!! Well that's it for now. Tonight is the big family finale. We will go eat and play with the kids. We participated in Tumwater's Annual 4th of July Parade again this year. This will be our 4th year attending with the fire department. It's become a tradition for us! I can remember when Emma could barely climb up into these seats! Here is the gang this year! Emma and I rode up in the boat with some of the kids. It was definitely the coolest spot! It was a hot parade!

We went to Millerslyvania State Park to ride our bikes. We ended up at the lake for awhile too! It was a great family day!
