The Emmas

Image
Here are the Emmas! This is Emma Burrows and Emma Rubbert. It's amazing to me that Teresa and I who grew up together but lost touch after I moved to Washington both named our girls Emma. We didn't know each other were pregnant when we were either! And Emma Burrows birthday is 10-31 and Emma Rubbert's birthday is 11-1. They are a year apart, 364 days to be exact! The Emma's love hanging out together. One of their favorite things to do is re-enact High School Musical! They also just like being together. The other picture is of the Emmas and Allyssa. Though I was informed this weekend that Allyssa is not a kid, she is a person. She is really good about hanging out with the Emmas though she does get tired of them after awhile. After all she is 9!

Awana Award Ceremony

Image
Emma had her first Awana award ceremony tonight. She received a certificate for attending as well as an award for completing her first book! She started in the middle of February this year and completed the book by the first of May. It takes a lot of kids all year (Sept - May) to finish the book! She had to work through the book and memorize 23 bible verses! She was so proud of herself! And so were we! Her cookie that I made her said "You did it! We love you! Mom & Dad!"

Ok I just had to post these pictures! Look at Mac's face! In the first one you can only imagine he is thinking, "Please make her let go of me!" In the second on he is thinking "We're done right?!? Please let me be done!!" In the last one, "Ok ok I'll sit here and be miserable because I love you but don't think I like this!" Ahh the many looks of our dog Mac... if only we knew what was really going through his mind!

Our Pilot!

One of our favorite places to go is the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Robert and I were married there so it's a special place to us. It's also Emma's favorite place. She has a love of science, space and math. So for the last 10 years, we've had a membership to the museum. On this trip, Emma decided she wanted to try the simulator. So here she is with Robert practicing flying a fighter plane. Here they go getting buckled up to go fly! Take off... Watch out! Hang left! So do you think she liked it?

A girl & her dog...

Emma has developed a morning ritual with our dog Mac. Every morning after she gets up, she hops on the couch. She calls Mac up there and they watch TV together. This is the result! Who is more comfortable??

The New Do'

Emma and I went out on a girl's night with some friends. We went shopping, dinner and bowling. Then the girls decided they wanted to get their hair cut! Emma has been blessed with my wavys/curls and Grammy's fine hair! So it's usually wavy/curly/messy! It has also gotten damaged with her twice weekly swimming. Plus she is always complaining about the tangles when I comb it. I've threatened to cut it off but she wanted to grow it out. Well on Friday she changed her mind! She decided she wanted it short so off we went to the salon! I LOVE it and so does she. I was a little sad about cutting it off but am glad we did! It is SO cute and so much more manageable!
