Life with our little family of 3...

Kayaking! About a year or so ago, Robert began dreaming of us all going kayaking together. It's a relatively inexpensive hobby compared to others. Thus began his quest... It started with Emma. Last year for Christmas she got her own kayak from Grandpa & Grandma. In the months since, she has become quite the kayaker! She loves it! Especially having her own! So a few weekends ago, we rented a couple of more kayaks and went out on the sound. We had a great morning of kayaking around the sound! It's so amazing to see how confident Emma is out on her own. She loves being able to paddle around by herself. Hanging with Grandpa We didn't get a picture but we had a couple of sea lions following us around that morning! It was really cute. 1 kayak down... 2 more to go. :-)

It has been a long time since I have posted any pictures of my own since our camera died! Thanks to our friend Rachael for letting us borrow her camera for these pictures! Emma and I decided to take an impromptu trip to the Oregon Coast this week. She has wanted me to take her to Cannon Beach since I did our women's retreat there last spring. She really wanted to spend the night too but after hours of looking I couldn't find anything under $125 a night since it's tourist season! When I told her this she asked if I would look one more time. So I did to appease her.... and wouldn't you know it but I found a room for $79. I had looked at this hotel and many others several times and NEVER found this rate! When I told Emma she said "Yes! God answered my prayers!" So off to a great start to Oregon we went... Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach Of course Gwen had to come on the trip! Emma packed enough clothes for both herself AND Gwen to be able to stay an entire week! (Side note: Gwen never made it out of the hotel...she pretty much stayed like this the whole time...guess she didn't need any of those outfits after all!) We had just watched the sunset at Seaside Finally breakfast! She was so hungry and so happy when it finally came!

Day 2 of Summer Hummer... I think she's having a great time...

This is Emma's 5th year at Summer Hummer! It's hard to believe that she has been going to it that long! That also means it's my 5th week in 5 years of me time! :-) Whoo hoo! She is having a blast again this year. I heard that there are just under 1,000 kids! Whoa! There are over 400 volunteers! That is so amazing! God is at work! Here is a video from Monday...

We helped again this year with our annual Egg Dash & Safety Fair at the Fire Department. Emma said she didn't want to do the egg dash since she was older... well that all changed when her friends showed up ready to collect some eggs! But then it was back to business for her... It was a great time all around!
