A new hobby for Emma?

Image
Emma is on the boat this weekend with Robert's dad & Cindy. This morning we received a picture via text on our phones.... That is Emma out there all by herself... kayaking! Gene said after a 5 minute lesson she was off! Our little girl is growing up....

An adventurous day for Mac...

Image
Our dog Mac is a goof ball. We took him with us to Poulsbo to visit the grandparents on their boat. He just loves being with us. But he sure doesn't like strangers... he tries to lunge at them. He was an abused stray so only God knows what happened to him. :-( But he is our goofy dog... Hanging out on the boat with grandpa He looks so distinguished at times... What a day... he is exhausted! Can you tell he's a man.... (He laid like this for over an hour)

Spring Recital

Image
Emma had her spring piano recital on Friday night. She did so well and wasn't scared this time! She ran right up there and played really well! This time she played two songs. A solo and a duet with her teacher, Ms. Kelly. She had a great time! Someone said that you can tell she's having a great time because she bounces her hands when she plays! And off she went...

Some days I wish...

Image
... I was a cat. I could lay around all day in a basket. I could stand on top of the piano and look down at my servants. I could make the dog fear me with just a look.... but then that also means I have to step in and around my own poop and pee... So maybe I like being me....

Easter 2010

Image
Emma & Gwen - Easter 2010 Grammie found these matching dresses way back in February! It was crazy that we were shopping for Easter dresses in the winter but I'm so thankful now! So is Emma & Gwen!

Genetics

Image
It's interesting to me how strong genetics can be. I've never met nor heard of anyone that sleeps with one knee up in the air. Robert sometimes sleeps this way. Well now so does Emma! Interesting....

The Ancient Americans...

Image
Today Emma and I read about the ancient people from the Americas. So we decided to make some Navajo Fry Bread. As we were making the bread, I asked Emma if she could imagine doing this all day every day. She told me yes because it was fun! Then I explained to her that is all she would do all day. Prepare a meal, eat it, clean up all just in time to start over again for the next meal. She didn't think it sounded fun anymore... especially when I explained to her that they had to haul the water, boil it, start a fire, etc.... :-) The bread turned out pretty good. It tasted like a cracker and a biscuit. It made a yummy Navajo Fry Bread Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich! The joys of homeschooling...
