Emma and I were fortunate to take a trip to the Pacific Science Center with our homeschool group. We even got to bring Grammie! It was such a nice day and we had a great time! Emma & Mommy Emma & Grammie The Space Needle in the background

Emma & Daddy

Image
I came home tonight from a meeting to discover this... Can anything be any sweeter? She is so blessed to have a Daddy like Robert...

The King...

Image
Apparently Mac threw up on his bed the other day. So I stripped it to wash the cover. Unfortunately it went through so I put his bed outside to air out after blotting out what I could. This is what I discovered moments after I laid it on the table... Can he get any more comfortable?? What a life of luxury he leads...

Going on vacation...

Image
We took our annual trip to Leavenworth for some fun in the snow. This year we found a place that would let us bring Mac. He looks thrilled doesn't he?? He actually loves going in the car and wherever we go... I just caught him in an old man moment... Emma drew this picture before we left. It is a picture of her crying because she is going to miss her fish... Her fish survived this vacation! The last time we left... it didn't do so well... More vacation pics to come!

Governor's Tour

Image
We are part of a large homeschooling group in our area. The group gives us opportunities to do some fun field trips and such. Last week we participated in a tour of the capitol and Governor's mansion. We weren't able to make the organized tour of the capitol but Emma and I took our own tour of it anyway. We went to the Senate, House, Governor's office, Lt. Governor's office, Secretary of State and the Treasurer's offices. This is a picture of Emma on the steps of the Capitol. I especially love the caution tape in the background... brings out the color of her hair? Here is a picture of the Governor's mansion. It's one of only a few in the country that you can actually take a tour of. It was built in 1908 and is the oldest building on the campus. In 1973 it was restored thanks to Gov. Evans and his wife. For years people wanted to tear it down and rebuild a new one because of the state of disrepair it was in. But they saved it and brought it back to it's...

International Fair

Image
This year Emma decided to participate in the International Fair with CHoSS. (Christian Homeschoolers of the South Sound) She decided back in the fall to do Haiti. She picked Haiti because we had been reading a story that had a new girl in school who was from Haiti. Also a friend of her's father lived in Haiti for several years. Little did we know at the time only months later that country would be devastated by a earthquake. It was a good learning lesson for Emma though. She saw how kids in other countries live which is very different that she does. She did such a great job with her board! She also did a great job at the fair telling people what she learned about Haiti. We were both very proud of her! Great job Emma!

A Dog's Life

Image
Our Dog Mac has the life! The other night Emma asked to sleep in our bed. I went to go to bed and this is what I found. Actually I found Mac sleeping all stretched out and covered up with his head on her. Between him and Emma, there was no room for Robert or I! Apparently she called him up there after I tucked her in. And this is what I found the next morning... Sometimes I wish I could be a dog...
